SAN CARLO PRESENTS THE NEW PIÙ GUSTO WASABI AND GREEN APPLE FLAVOUR POTATO CHIPS

The fourth edition of San Carlo's Crea Il Tuo Gusto (Create Your Flavour) contest, conceived and managed by the digital branding agency A-Tono, ended with great success with over 255,000 entries, among which San Carlo chose the winning flavour.

Marco Canosci, 33, originally from Umbria, blended the explosiveness of wasabi with the freshness of green apple. Thanks to his previous culinary experience, he successfully combined very different ingredients, which together create a unique, original mix.

The lucky winner was announced on San Carlo's official social media channels with three teaser videos, which asked users to find clues to the colour and the new flavour. A final post then revealed the name of its inventor and his creation.

The figures (+25% in terms of participants and +15% in terms of entries compared to the previous year) confirm that the theme of this year's unusual challenge, devoted to colours, was welcomed with even more enthusiasm than previous editions, because it stimulated users to create fusions of innovative ingredients.

After the fresh-spicy taste of mint and chilli pepper, the exotic flavour of coconut and turmeric, and the traditional salami and wild fennel, this fourth edition of the competition gave consumers the chance to show their desire to experiment with new flavours, and San Carlo gave the prize to the idea that most successfully seized the fusion food trend of the moment.

The new San Carlo Più Gusto Wasabi and Green Apple flavour will be distributed from summer 2018. The name of the winner and the description of the flavour will be shown on the packs.
